A Love Letter to Black Sapphic Readers

You are the reason Black Sapphic Book Club exists. This space was created for readers who see pieces of themselves in every page of a book that celebrates softness, desire, and power in all our forms. Whether you’re joining us from Houston or from your couch halfway across the world, this is your community. You belong here.

We started BSBC because we were tired of feeling like our stories were hard to find. We wanted a place where Black queer readers could gather, gush about characters who look like us, and build friendships beyond the internet. Every event, every playlist, every discussion is a small act of love for this community.

Membership helps us keep that love alive. It isn’t about exclusivity, it’s about sustainability. Your contributions allow us to rent venues, host author talks, and provide materials that make each gathering feel special. When you join, you are helping us build something lasting, something beautiful, something ours.

Our membership options are flexible so you can participate in the way that fits you best.

• Virtual Tier (Free) – Access our online book discussions, community giveaways, and monthly newsletter.

• Houston Hotties ($7/month) – Join all local meetups for free, enjoy author events and creative pop-ups around the city.

• Inner Circle ($11/month) – Get everything from the Hotties tier plus exclusive goodie bags, early merch access, and priority invitations to limited-capacity events.

If you aren’t part of a paid tier, don’t worry. You are still welcome at our gatherings, and there will simply be a small attendance fee for in-person meetups to help cover costs. No matter how you join us, you’re part of the story.
